About Lead Like A Girl

Since its pilot in 2017 and official launch in 2019, Lead Like A Girl (LLAG) has become a safe and supportive space for girls to:
  • Explore leadership in diplomacy, STEM, climate action, and civic life.
  • Build self-efficacy through teamwork, communication, and critical problem-solving.
  • Connect with mentors — Black women and allies in leadership — who inspire and guide their growth.
  • Strengthen community ties by fostering relationships between girls, families, and neighbourhoods.
Operating under the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), LLAG is grounded in an intersectional and interdisciplinary approach, ensuring participants are exposed to diverse voices, ideas, and pathways.

Why It Matters

Representation in leadership starts early. Lead Like A Girl equips Black girls with the skills, confidence, and networks to:
  • See themselves as leaders in their communities and beyond.
  • Overcome systemic barriers to education, technology, and opportunity.
  • Shape the future through active involvement in pressing global and local issues.
LLAG is more than a program — it is a movement to build the next generation of changemakers.
